Fall 2021 - Columbus, Indiana
(34ft x 120ft)
Mural produced alongside LAA Office and Columbus Area Arts Council. Columbus is a city with a dense array of historic architecture. The city itself takes immense pride in highlighting their archtiectural wonders.
When tasked with collaborating on a ground and wall mural project for Columbus’ 6th Street area, LAA Office and Nick engaged in many discussions as to what this might look like. Then it was decided jointly, to craft geometric murals that speak to the city’s architecture as well as highlights the unique nature of the International Order of the Oddfellows building of which Nick’s mural was directly apply to.
Upon completion, the 6th Street Arts Alley has become a place for a wide breadth of the community to come together, all while enjoying the freshly painted murals. There are community events with food trucks, live music, every month, where 6th Street is shut down for vehicle traffic, but open to the public for enjoyment.
This project was featured by This x That, a progressive architecture agency based in Los Angeles, CA. It might well garner other architectural community engagement awards in the coming future.
Big thank you to LAA Office for the initiation to collaboration this awesome project, as well as Columbus Area Arts Council, Exhibit Columbus, Liz, Tad Fruits, Courtney, Louis Joyner and all others who were integral to make this project happen.
