Spring 2021 - Indianapolis
(27ft x 95ft)
The Coil reached out to Nick to produce a mural for their courtyard area. The area is full of beautiful exterior seating and shade portions, but their blank grey concrete wall was in need of some shine.
Concepting with their team, resulting in a tenant vote on three designs, the one below was chosen and installed early spring 2021.
Shapes and colors are informed by the nearby Broad Ripple canal waterway, as well as warm summer sunsets and the nearby streets of Broad Ripple.
Wine nights and more events are held near this space now at The Coil and the mural has meshed with their community well.
“For years we were looking for a way to liven up our outdoor courtyard within our multifamily apartment community.
We stumbled across Nick Abstract’s work within the community and were drawn to the clean lines and modern aesthetic he achieved through each of his pieces. From the first contact, we were immediately impressed with his professionalism and eagerness for our project. There was clear communication throughout the entire process, but we were blown away by how smoothly and efficiently he worked all the way from the contract & design phase to the actual application.
Our expectations were 100% exceeded when we saw our completed mural – we weren’t prepared for the level of flawlessness that was delivered to us. He even left the entire courtyard cleaner than when he arrived, which was just the cherry on top of the already premier service we had received. We want to build more walls just to have him here again! 11/10.” - Brianna Fritts (The Coil)
