This mural design was for the West Allis Wallpapered City Project. West Allis is a vibrant place with focused individuals, and Smith wanted to reflect the vibrant vibe of the location with contrasting tones, experimental typography, and sharp angles.

A different artist was selected for the project, as this was an “Open Call” project, though Smith stated “Open calls are great even if I’m not selected because it gives me a chance to do another design and learn more about a new place.”

This mural design was also produced to show the connective nature between art and architecture. Angular forms expand across the substrate inspired by topographical maps and architectural structures in the nearby area.

This design mockup was produced in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop as a proof of concept
